The Center for Urban Economics is dedicated to providing innovative research on the economic landscape unique to urban environments. The Center believes that cities suffer from unique economic challenges which require unique economic solutions and policies. When properly understood, even poorer areas of central cities are overflowing with economic potential. However, accurate data and specific, place-based analysis can be hard to come by. The Center for Urban Economics, a joint project between The J. McDonald Williams Institute and the UTD School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences, exists to fill this information gap.
